The perfect festive houseplants for your home or gifts for a loved one. Few plants are as Christmassy as glowing red Poinsettia! Bright red bracts, often thought to be the flowers, top rich green foliage of big leaves, with dainty yellow buds at the very centre. So ornamental, and thankfully easy to care for.

Poinsettia, also known as Euphorbia pulcherrima, flower into the New Year and if kept alive can return with repeat performances next Christmas. These are low maintenance and easy to care for. Just place in a bright spot of the room and keep the potted compost moist to ensure the immense red shade can be seen through to Christmas Day, and beyond!

Top Tips

Place your Poinsettia in a bright spot of the home with indirect sunlight. This should be away from any draught and in a consistent room temperature of 13-15C. It is best to avoid windowsills, due to sudden temperature drops at night.

Care Information

Caring for your Poinsettia:

Only water when the surface soil is dry, this should only be needed sparingly across the winter months.
You could boost the humidity around the plant by spraying with water every couple of days.
Don�t leave dust to settle on the leaves. Treat them like your ornaments and give them a dust as and when you see dust gathering.
Repotting the plant after Christmas can help to encourage flowering in the following year. Use free-draining, loam-based compost when repotting, feeding once a fortnight through spring and summer with a high potash fertiliser.
No pruning will be needed on the run-up to Christmas. To boost the chance of re-flowering, prune the plant back to 10cm around April.
If you do spot any leaves starting to wilt or drop from the plant, this is a clear sign that the room temperature is too cold for it. Grey mould can indicate you�re watering the plant too much.

Delivery Information

Our experienced team at the nursery will always carefully package and send your plants nursery fresh in the perfect condition to thrive once you receive and plant them. Although most plants are extremely tough and will not be affected by all but the most extreme of weather conditions, we always avoid dispatching the most perishable plants if extreme frosts or heat is forecast. We also avoid dispatching orders over Bank Holiday weekends.

Please allow us 3-5 working days to dispatch your order. If you have ordered a 'pre-order' item, these will be sent out as soon as possible after the quoted dispatch date and we generally ship your entire order with any pre-ordered items. Once your order has been dispatched, we will send you an email with details on how you can track it.

We send most of our orders via a fully tracked courier service with Yodel. We will send you a tracking link as soon as your order has been dispatched. To avoid perishable items being stuck at depots and deteriorating, we will not require a signature on delivery, and we ask out couriers to leave your item in a safe place ad your delivery address.

If you have delivery instruction and require our courier to leave your item in a specific place, please let us know - there is an option to leave a message for the courier at the checkout.

For smaller and single-item orders, we may send these via the post with Royal Mail - Tracking will not be available for orders sent via this method.
