Description

One of the most well-known indoor plants, Nephrolepis exaltata, known more commonly as the sword fern or Boston fern, is an evergreen, perennial houseplant with graceful, arching fronds that are a delicate green.

Evergreen, 'Green Moment' is slightly darker and retains its wonderful colour all year with less browning and die-back than other varieties ofered for sale, making it a decorative and striking plant to decorate your home - perfect to give as a gift or a housewarming present, and spectacular in a hanging basket or pot where it can cascade over the edges.

This favourite of Victorian plant hunters is not just a pretty face either - gardeners have known for years that houseplants are great features for the home, helping you to get a good, restful night's sleep, and now we know why. Research by NASA has shown that one of their most useful features is their ability to keep the air inside your home clean, removing toxins such as formaldehyde and benzene, and giving out valuable oxygen at night.

Easy to grow and look after, your Boston Fern loves a humid atmosphere so is perfect for a bathroom or kitchen where it will thrive in a shady part of a brightly lit room.

Top Tips

Even if you can't place your Boston fern in a humid atmosphere like your bathroom you can still grow it successfully, just mist the leaves regularly with water and place the pot on a tray of damp clay pebbles.

Care Information

Aftercare Advice for your Green Moment Boston fern:

Keep the compost moist (but not waterlogged) at all times except winter when plants are dormant, and water can be cut down (but do not allow to dry out so that the compost shrinks from the side of the pot).
If you can't place it in a humid atmosphere like your bathroom you can still grow this plant, just mist the leaves regularly with water and or place the pot on a tray of damp pebbles.
Keep your fern at 18-25�C.
Feed with a general-purpose plant food once a month.
When watering, pour water around the sides of the plant, as pouring it the middle can cause rotting of the crown.

Delivery Information

Our experienced team at the nursery will always carefully package and send your plants nursery fresh in the perfect condition to thrive once you receive and plant them. Although most plants are extremely tough and will not be affected by all but the most extreme of weather conditions, we always avoid dispatching the most perishable plants if extreme frosts or heat is forecast. We also avoid dispatching orders over Bank Holiday weekends.

Please allow us 3-5 working days to dispatch your order. If you have ordered a 'pre-order' item, these will be sent out as soon as possible after the quoted dispatch date and we generally ship your entire order with any pre-ordered items. Once your order has been dispatched, we will send you an email with details on how you can track it.

We send most of our orders via a fully tracked courier service with Yodel. We will send you a tracking link as soon as your order has been dispatched. To avoid perishable items being stuck at depots and deteriorating, we will not require a signature on delivery, and we ask out couriers to leave your item in a safe place ad your delivery address.

If you have delivery instruction and require our courier to leave your item in a specific place, please let us know - there is an option to leave a message for the courier at the checkout.

For smaller and single-item orders, we may send these via the post with Royal Mail - Tracking will not be available for orders sent via this method.
