Description

Evergreen and low-maintenance, produce a fascinating display with the huge 'Giants Gold Mine' Sempervivum. Stretching into an impressively big rosette of shiny golden leaves, which darken to a rich maroon centre, this houseleek grows into a large, low-growing plant. Star-like pink flowers can emerge every few years in summer.

This drought-tolerant and easy to grow plant is even a favourite with children, and could prove to be a �foot in the door� for a life-long interest in the garden. Sempervivums need to be planted in well-drained soil in full sun, tolerating drought once established. Leaf colour is dependent on temperature and light, so may intensify or soften at different times of the year, rarely looking the same!

Supplied as an established plant in a 12cm pot, ready for planting.

Any offsets from this Sempervivum can be repotted in spring, or used to fill in border or bed gaps.

Care Information

Plant in full sun and in well-drained soil.
Sempervivum plants prefer well-drained soil with sand or grit added.
Grow them in trays or pots, in the ground, or on wood or in rock piles. Once established, the plants need no further care.
Once a rosette flowers, it dies back so simply pull out the dead rosette and fill the hole with gritty soil. The plant will quickly fill in any empty spots with offsets.

Although most plants are extremely tough and will not be affected by all but the most extreme of weather conditions, we always avoid dispatching the most perishable plants if extreme frosts or heat is forecast. We also avoid dispatching orders over Bank Holiday weekends.

Please allow us 3-5 working days to dispatch your order. If you have ordered a 'pre-order' item, these will be sent out as soon as possible after the quoted dispatch date and we generally ship your entire order with any pre-ordered items. Once your order has been dispatched, we will send you an email with details on how you can track it.

We send most of our orders via a fully tracked courier service with Yodel. We will send you a tracking link as soon as your order has been dispatched. To avoid perishable items being stuck at depots and deteriorating, we will not require a signature on delivery, and we ask out couriers to leave your item in a safe place ad your delivery address.

If you have delivery instruction and require our courier to leave your item in a specific place, please let us know - there is an option to leave a message for the courier at the checkout.
