Description

Pampas Grass is considered one of the most striking ornamental grasses around - and it is not difficult to understand why.

The feathery pink and white plumes of this collection are instantly recognisable as they tower to the sky in an impressive fashion. Pampas were once associated with wealth and luxury in times gone by - although the form still boasts a classy look and a feel of sophistication.

Suitable for any garden, this hugely versatile variety works well as a single specimen, in groups, or for planting en masse to create dramatic backdrops or natural screens. Whatever the setting, these iconic grasses, which are native to South America, never fail to add texture and movement.

Despite boasting willowy beauty, they really are tough as nails and require very little care, making them ideal for gardeners of all abilities, even those with less time to spare. Both plants remain evergreen in warm areas, while the white grass turns tan in colour when temperatures drop.

For best results, plant in a sunny or slightly shaded location in dry to medium, well-drained soil. They can tolerate almost drought conditions and look fabulous even in autumn and winter. If you're searching for something vibrant and funky, then you won't find a better addition than this rosy, pink living cocktail decoration.

Supplied as two established plants in 9cm pots.

Top Tips
Pampas Grasses work extremely well in salty winds and coastal conditions, so these are a great option for those lucky enough to live by the sea!
Care Information

Planting Advice For Your Pampas Grass

  • Grow in fertile, deep, well-drained soil in full sun if possible.
  • Cover with a deep dry mulch to protect plants from frost in their first winter.
  • Choose your planting position carefully - they require plenty of space due to their size and because of the sharp leaf edges.
  • Cut and comb out the last year's flower stems and dead leaves in late winter or early spring; wear gloves as protection from the sharp leaf edges.
