Description

An increasingly popular beauty for any garden, these Canna Lilies produce compact and reliable plants, with impressively shaded blooms.

This collection features three different varieties, with an array of colourful clumped blooms, each with a long flowering period stretching from July to October.

Very early to flower, these versatile perennials perform well when planted in beds, borders, or even containers – perfect as a garden backdrop, as patio or balcony feature pieces, or dotted throughout the garden.

Canna Lilies are known for deterring deer and rabbits from the garden, ideal for those in particularly rural areas where these pests are a problem, while still attracting friendly pollinators, such as bees and butterflies.

Supplied as three established plants in 9cm pots, ready to plant out. Including one each of:

  • Canna Lily ‘Bronze Peach’ – Vibrant and soft orange peach petalled clumps grow from dark bronze foliage.
  • Canna Lily ‘Bronze Scarlet’ – Bright scarlet flowers contrast well against bronze-tinted leaves. Proud holder of the RHS Award of Garden Merit.
  • Canna Lily ‘Red Golden Flame’ – Fiery-red flowers with yellow edging, sat above dark, deep green foliage.
Top Tips

Cannas perform best in semi or full shade, so use these striking plants to transform darker parts of the garden.

Care Information
  • These varieties will thrive well in loose and nutrient-rich soil.
  • Make sure to keep the soil evenly moist when young, while wet and poorly-drained soil can be tolerated once established. Water freely during dry spells.
  • Hold off removing old flowers, as new shoots come up within dead flowers and, a month or so later, will produce more flowers.
  • Apply a general-purpose liquid feed in the middle of summer.
  • Little pruning or training is needed, just stake clumps in exposed positions.
  • Lift the plants in autumn after the foliage has been frosted. Break large clumps into two or three and pot the pieces into roughly 10in pots. You can then overwinter them in any frost-free shed or greenhouse, keeping them just slightly moist.
  • When the plants start to push up their red shoots in spring, bring them into a light place, water well and protect from late frosts.
  • By June, growth will be well under way and they can be planted out once more.
